Why do I see "CVV Declined" or "Gateway Declined" when trying to pay my bill?


Your invoice payment has not gone through and you are seeing a "CVV Declined" or "Gateway Declined" message.


The message CVV Declined indicates the credit card provider has responded that the security code entered for the card is incorrect.

If you believe you have received this message erroneously, double check that the expiration date is correct and the card has been activated. We also recommend you contact your bank to see if something else could be causing the error.

The message Gateway Declined: CVV indicates that our system was not able to validate the security code entered for the card. You can try again after making sure the information entered was correct (and that your card is valid and activated), but if the error message persists, you will need to use a different card.
