Will I need to reauthorize Heroku Connect after enabling MFA for Salesforce?


Salesforce will begin to require all users who log into Salesforce products to use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on February 1, 2022. Will the user I log into Salesforce with for Heroku Connect be affected?



The way Heroku Connect authenticates as your user is resilient to changes in the MFA requirement that Salesforce is enforcing. There are two permissions that manage your integration user's MFA:

  • Multi-Factor Authentication for User Interface Logins
  • Multi-Factor Authentication for API Logins

Neither permission being applied to an integration user will affect Heroku Connect synchronization.
